From 1975 to the '79 he is conductor of the symphonic orchestra of "Scutari" and in 1979 he is conductor of the orchestra of Theatre of Opera of Tirana. In the 1974 he receives the first prize in the May's concerts "Festival of the Albanian Music". In 1985 he receives the honorary title of Emeritus Artist of the Albanian Republic. In 1989 he is among the conductor selected to belong to a stage in the auditorium of the RAI in Turin where he has had meetings and exchangings of ideas with conductors of orchestra as Charles Maria GIULINI, Raffael FRUEHBEC DE BURGOS and Ferdinand LEITNER and one year later in the foundation "Yeudi MENUHIN" in France, he is admissed in the direction’s class of orchestra of Pierre DERVEAUX. In the occasion of the bicentennial of Mozart’s death he has directed his Requiem with the choir of the Radio Television and the orchestra Filarmonica of Skopje with soloists from Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia - Erzegovina and Macedonia. From 1992 to 1994 he is artistic conductor in the Theater of Tirana’s Opera and it is in this period that he conducts concerts in America with Tulary's Simphony Orchestra (California) having in this occasion the possibility to study and to know a rich organizational and artistic experience in institutions as the in San Francisco's Opera, Metropolitan in New York and Chicago's Simfony Orchestra, through the program projected by " The United States Information Agency" ( Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affaires ). In 1993 he realizes a tour in Italy with Orchestra of the Tirana's Philharmony orchestra (music by Mercadante,Grieg, Brahms, Bethoveen and Mahler). In 1995 he directs in Spoleto to the Festival of the two Worlds.
He has collaborated with instrumentalists as Ilia Grubert,Enzo Caroli, Kiell Backellund, Antoin Rebstain, Marcello Abbado, Rita Kinka, Antonio Di Cristofano, Nicola Pascaloff, Boni Sozuar, Ted Papavrami, Sihana Badivuku, Renato Ripo, England Hasa and singers as Simon Thorpe, Biondine Staskewitch, Kristina Hawthorne, Georgeta Grigore, Susan Miller, Stephanie Park, Lacezar Lazarov, Biser Georgiev, Silvana Kotlenko, Savio Riccardi. He has an ample lyric repertoire which Traviata, Rigoletto, Trovatore, Manon, Lescaut (Puccini), Tosca and Turandot, the Barber of Seville, Carmen, Fishermen of Pearls, Cavalry Rusticana, Clowns, Don Giovanni etc. and of numerous passages vocal - symphonic among which: - Haendel - Messiah - Carl Orff - Carmina Burana - J. Brahms - Requiem Tedesco - G. Rossini - Stabat Mater - L. van Bethoven - Put Solemn - G. Verdi - Requiem and of a vast symphonic repertoire beginning from the composers preclassics up to those contemporary He has collaborated with: the orchestra of the Theater of Opera of Tirana, the orchestra of the Radio - Albanian Television, the Filarmonica of Scutari, the Filarmonica of the academy of the Belle Arti and the orchestra of room of Tirana, the orchestra of the Radio - Television of Pristina (Kosovo), the Filarmonica of Scopie, and with the Theater of the Opera of Scopie (Republic ex Yugoslav of Macedonia), the orchestra of the Theater of the Opera of Ankara (Turkey), ), the Tullary's symphony orchestra (California-U.S.A), the Bari's symphony orchestra, the chamber orchestra "G. Paisiello" , the chamber orchestra of Puglia and Basilicata, the Mediterranean Philharmonic orchestra, the symphony orchestra " U. He
was born to Tirana in 1947. He is Child of art. His father, M.
Krantja (conductor of orchestra), was student and assistant of V.
Talich in the musical academy of Praga, the first Albanian conductor
who have founded in Albania the orchestrals institutions after the
war. Ermir Krantja is grown and prepared since small under the
influence of the Czech and Slovak culture, he is graduated in violin
to the musical high school of Tirana under the guide of G. Bogdo,
subsequently completing the studies of harmony with S. Gjoni. He
continues the formation to the academy of the Arts (Tirana) studying
direction of orchestra under his father's guide, orchestration and
musicology in the class of Zadeja and choral direction with K. Trako.
He is graduated in 1970 with the maximum of the votes in the
academy of the arts of Tirana, assuming the place of conductor of
orchestra of the Radio Albanian Television where he develops intense
artistic activity directing in public concerts and recordings.
